Larvotto gets regulatory backing to progress Hillgrove mine plans
ASX-listed Larvotto Resources has secured key regulatory support for the proposed extension of mining operations at its Hillgrove gold and antimony project in New South Wales (NSW).
The NSW Resources Regulator, the NSW Environment Protection Authority, and the Armidale Regional Council have reviewed modification six to development application DA98/35, which seeks to extend operations at Hillgrove through to December 31, 2026. All three authorities have raised no objections.
Further, the Armidale Regional Council confirmed there were no objections received during the public exhibition period for the modification.
Larvotto has formally committed to meeting all recommendations and standard regulatory conditions, and now awaits final ratification of the modification by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
“We would like to thank all those who assisted with the modification six development application. The NSW government has been incredibly proactive in providing advice and support and we thank them,” said MD Ron Heeks.
“Approval of Mod 6 allows the Larvotto team to advance project financing and commence works and production, while the larger modification five that allows production of 500 000 t/y is processed. This is an excellent validation of the Hillgrove project and we look forward to providing further significant updates as the project progresses towards production.”
Located near Armidale, the Hillgrove mine is part of Larvotto’s portfolio of critical mineral assets. These include the Mt Isa copper/gold/cobalt project in Queensland and the Eyre multi-metals and lithium project in Western Australia.
